January Hip Kit Layouts

The January Hip 2B Square Scrapbooking kit was full of bright colors and was fun to work with.  We got to go the Hawaii in January and the colors of the kit were perfect for some of my Hawaii pics.

O'U KAMALI'I (My children)

I love this picture of my kids.  The are both looking at the camera and are being loving towards each other.

Occasionally I will tune into HSN's scrapbook days to see what there is for sale.  The other day they sucked me in and I HAD to buy their new Lucky 8 Punches from WeR Memory Keepers.  They make really big die cuts.  The circle on the page above was cut with one of their new punches.

KAMELONU (Cameron)

When we were at the International Market there was a vendor that had a book of names and their Hawaiian name.  I took pics of both the kiddos so I could remember them.  This is Cameron's Hawaiian name.

I love this picture of Cameron taken on the beach at Waikiki.  We had a breakfast picnic at Fort DeRussy park right on the beach.  It was such fun.  Sami dropped an entire scone and we watched this pigeon try to eat it.  It was quite funny.

I just got the new Tim Holtz Decorative Strip Accordion flower die.  It is AWESOME!  It makes these flowers in seconds.  It is a super easy way to add texture in a flash!

KAMEIO (Sami Jo)

This is Sami's Hawaiian name.  She is very hard to get to look at me.  She wouldn't smile but at least she is looking at me.

I found a layout that I really liked on October Afternoon's website.  It had these really cool flowers and I made one for this layout.  It is made out of 7 1" circles.  Here is a tutorial that I made on how to do it, or you can go to the link above to October Afternoon.

BFF'S

This is a really cute pic of Sami and her BFF from preschool Ella.  They had a playdate and had to dress up.  It is so fun to see Sami make friends.

I just got a new border die that makes really big scallops.  I love love it.  I have been looking for one forever.  It is a Sizzix Sizzlets Decorative Strip Die.  I have a feeling it is going to get a lot of use.

Another Pinterest Project

I know I've said this in the past, but I LOVE PINTEREST!!  It is the best for getting ideas for home decor, scrapping and crafts.  I saw this post on Pinterest for a teacher valentine box full of little goodies.  Here is my take.  I made three of them.  I had a hard time finding the little boxes.  I found mine in the fishing area.  I had bought some little hand sanitizer to put in also but they were too big.  I needed to find some boxes that were a little bit bigger.

I used one sheet of 12X12 paper and it decorated 3 boxes and the candy bars and clips inside.  I think they turned out super cute.

I also got to use my newest Favorite Scrapping Tool.  The Tim Holtz Sizzlets Decorative Strip Die - Mini Rosettes.  It is so awesome.  It takes seconds to make those cool Rosettes that are such the rage now.

Valentines

I have been searching Pinterest for neat ideas for the kiddos valentines this year. There are a whole bunch of them that are super cute. Right after Christmas I found these super cute candy jars marked down for a dollar.

The first thing I thought was eat the candy and them used the jars for scrapbooking embellishments. But then I remembered seeing a cute valentine using banana candy and a monkey saying "I'm bananas for you"

I found these really handy instructions to make the monkey on the Fiskars website. Well it is now getting closer to Valentines Day and I don't have time to make all of those little monkeys so I designed my own card.
Front of Card

Back of Card
hen I printed them out and mounted them on some card stock.  I filled some treat bags that I got from Michaels.  They turned out super cute and were easy for my three year old to help with.

If you would like to have a file of the above Valentine Card, leave me a comment and I will email it to you.  I am new at blogging and don't know how to upload a document for download.

December Hip Kit Layouts

I really enjoyed this kit.  Kimberly always puts together a wide variety of papers and embellishments that go perfectly together.  I am honored to be on the design team.

THAT'S JUST THE WAY I ROLL

I've had these pics for sometime, but didn't have the right paper to go with the until the December kit.  I always scrap my pictures to go with the paper, so the means I scrap out of order.  We took Cameron bowling with his friends for his 7th birthday.  He wasn't that into it, but Sami loved it.  She could barely hold up a 5 pound ball.  She was so cute.

I have to say the I am in love with the washi tape from the Smash line.  It is awesome.  Just adds that perfect accent.

LEGO DUDE

Cameron got the Republic Frigate for Christmas.  It was the first really big Lego that he did all by himself.  He was so very proud of himself.

WHO WOULDN'T LOVE THIS FACE?

Most of the time Sami won't look at the camera.  I think I've taken so many pictures, she has had it with the picture taking.  But when it is her idea to have a pose off, I don't argue.

YOU MAKE MY DAY

I love hanging out with my little man.
